2.03 Inheritances

Lilli gets a call for Gladys Blackwell's son, to let her know Gladys had passed away. Lilli travels to the city to attend the funeral and the reading of the will. Lilliana inherits both the small scrapyard and junkyard.

Casey begins to round the children for an afternoon nap, more for her sake than theirs. Even with Marcus and Lilli sharing the load of raising three children, it is still tiring work, she has no idea how her mother managed to raise triplets on her own. Casey thinks Natalie may have inherited the werewolf gene. Natalie's eyes have the tell tale sign, and sometime she can be a little destructive. The fluffy tale on Nat's bunny pajamas lasted less than a single day.

Bull and Dozer have both become great hunters, sniffing out and bringing home things that Lilli rewards them with treats for, Dozer however, prefers to play with the children, especially the little girl that smells funny.

Casey has been so tired lately that she has lost track of the days, the surge of energy that she gets when she wolfs out is used to run half way across town, and catch up on some exercise. She is registered as a self employed angler, although she can't recall the last time she went fishing.

'I just love these blocks!', *Nom nom nom!*

'I love you bear!'

*Nom nom nom!*

'I love you Dozer!"
'Don't even think about it kiddo!'

Speaking of *Nom nom nom!*, the 'Jettstar Triplets Feeding Frenzy!'.
The squeamish may want to avert their eyes...
Marcus does not understand why his children would rather wear spaghetti than eat it.

The children are surrounded with toys to stimulate their minds and senses, in preparation for when they are old enough to attend school. Although this activity in particular, seems to generate mostly temper tantrums.

Natalie doesn't chew absolutely everything she can get her hands on, for example this toy rocket is way to big to fit in her mouth, and receives a mild clawing instead.

The boys are quickly potty trained, and quickly learn to use the potty by themselves. If only they could be taught to empty them thinks Casey, a stinky potty in one hand, and her nose in the other.

Knowing how sensitive Casey's nose is to the smell, Marcus teaches the remaining child Natalie the art of self-toileting.

'Blur or no blur, I'm so not going to do this while someone's watching', thinks Natalie.

Natalie and Dominic like to have crawl races over the magic floor, even when Dominic has a head start, Natalie always beats him to the archway that is chosen as the finish line.

Dylan never races the other two, he'd rather play with the pegs and the blocks, but right now, it's time for Dylan to count sheep.

Marcus and Casey begin teaching the three children to talk. The children seem to be able to communicate with each with gibberish and hand waving, but the parents cant seem to understand this complex language, so they begin to learn Simlish.

Kidspeak.
Dylan, "*Nom nom nom*, *bang bang bang*"
Dominic, "*Nom nom*, *Bang Bang*, *drops block*, *reaches for another*"
Natalie,  "*Nom nom Nom nom*, *Bang bang*,*throws block*"

Simlish translation:

Dylan, "Blue ones taste best!"
Dominic, "I'm undecided, I need to do more testing."
Natalie,  "Red tastes way better than blue, here try this one!"

The night rolls on, and Nat grows weary of the great block flavor debate, the moon shines brightly through the windows. Dozer quickly recognizes the behavior of a pup learning to hunt.

Dozer admires the two legged pups technique and expects she will grow to be a great tracker.

Dozer also recognizes that Dominic's bunny suit tail is most likely Nat's next victim.

Dozer respects that Natalie is trying to raise her rank in the pack.

Although he does feel kind of sorry for Dom.

Dom chews the ear on one of the bears, it doesn't make him any higher ranked in the pack, but it does show Wugglesworth who is boss!

Now that all three children have learned to speak, Marcus, Casey and Lilli read to the children. This is s very time consuming task, and involves both patents, and assistance from Grandma Lil.

Marcus feels a little disappointed that he still hasn't written any books for his children.
He would rather be reading the children books that he has written himself. Marcus has many ideas for life lessons to include on his books, bit still hasn't found a muse for a unifying theme for his books.

Bull and Dozer are both getting a little old and gray, the Grim comes unexpectedly for Bull, who was lying in wait to ambush the postman. Apparently as the senior four legged member of the pack, the universe expected Bull to inherit this task that belonged to his mother, Gypsy. As a pup, he had absolutely no interest in the postal person.

Chapter Notes:

Marcus has written several books, but for story related reasons, I'm pretending it hasn't happened yet.
Bull has been added to the family burial plot.
Gladys died shortly after Horace, I've just had no where to easily write it into the story.
The fact that some idiot programmer on the 'Pets EP' assumes that the senior dog in each household will wipe its command queue and change the friendly trait to aggressive, or just add aggressive pisses me of to no end. Especially as a dog person and former postman for several years.
