6.09 Notice me Senpai!

Jessica returned home from another visit from the children's ward at St. James. She had finally been given permission to bring her rabbit into the hospital for a performance. Fluffy had entertained the children by leaping from Jess top hat and colliding with a trolley filled with colored jelly that had just been delivered by a nurse for the kids at the end of the performance. Another nurse standing by the door closed it just in time to prevent Fluffy from completing his escape routine and vanishing into the rest of the hospital.

Jess changed into some more comfortable clothes and after checking the twins were still asleep went to check the mail. Apart from the usual bills, and the regular collection of junk mail, Jess found a thick padded envelope with a Black Rock Islands stamp.

Jess spotted the ice cream truck at the other end of the street, at this time of night the driver was probably finished his run and was on his way home. Fortunately for Jess, it had been an unfortunately poor day for the driver. He spotted Jess and pulled up, hoping for a sale.

Jess ordered a dozen rainbow pops, she could always put the extra in the freezer for the children when they woke up.

As she enjoyed the multi colored ice pop a small raccoon curled up for a nap practically on the doorstep. Jess watched the wild creature in fascination while she finished her treat. "Hey little guy, are you interested in a career in show business?", she whispered as she crept past and headed inside. "I know a little bunny that's about to be fired from the entertainment industry."

Jessica curled up in one of the armchairs in front of the fireplace in a similar fashion to the small mammal that she had just witnessed napping outside. Jess peeled open the package of photos from Coral, and pulled out the nearly written letter.

Coral explained how she had camped out in an old hut by the beach on the first night dining on fish cooked over a campfire. At first light, Coral had set out to find her families old Winter house, where they had stayed when the ice had become too thick to live on the houseboat.

After Coral had trekked for several hours, she finally arrived to find the house was bigger than she remembered. Someone had expanded the single room on the second floor, and by its looks it was almost complete.

Apparently Coral's mother had given the house to her sister, a fact that Coral wasn't aware of, and her Aunt had passed the house on to one of her daughters. Coral's cousin Adalyn, and her husband Marku Stormcloud of the Shark Tooth clan were now the owners. Coral had come to the Islands expecting to have a house and a boat waiting for her, only to discover that her childhood home belonged to somebody else. Her father's boat that had been moored at the clan docks had broken from its mooring in a violent storm a week ago, and had vanished.

Adalyn offered Coral her old room for a few weeks while she worked out what she was going to do. It appeared that Marku wasn't overly impressed with the idea, but Adalyn pleaded until Marku relented.
Coral suspected that the Shark Tooth clan had their sense of humor surgically removed at birth.

Coral chipped in, sharing the cleaning, the cooking, and all of the other chores with Adalyn to 'earn her keep', as Marku put it. Marku fished, and occasionally repaired things. He spent the rest of his time watching TV and drinking beer, as everything else was 'womens work'. Coral couldn't see why her cousin put up with him.

"You have two more days, and then you need to find somewhere else, I'm sorry I did try to talk to Marku.", Adalyn informed Coral near the end of the fortnight.

Evie and Delilah celebrated their anniversary with dinner at a flash restaurant, a romantic movie at the cinema, and an extended make out session in the spa.

Jess had decided to give up on pulling live rabbits from her hat, instead she modified the hidden compartment in her top hat to conceal packs of colored pencils and multiple photocopies of rabbit coloring in pages.
While Jess got a thrill for performing to all ages, she liked performing for kids the best.

Evie had worked her way up to black belt and her client / sensai suggested she was ready to start breaking blocks. She began with simple foam blocks until she was confident of her technique.

Evette worked her way through several kinds of wood, and stone. There was one challenge remaining.

Space rock, the final challenge. Evie measured her opponent. Had the irresistible force finally met an immovable object? Eve calmed her breathing and centered her focus, the space rock shattered into dust and the fragments scattered like rose petals on the wind.

Delilah had acquired another collection of Dr. Seuss books.

Melissa and Nerissa were now following the story and even were able to point to some of the words.

Soon, the twins were (with help) reading to Eve and Delilah.

After work at one of her less public locations, Delilah spotted one of the local paparazzi on the security cameras snooping around the gates of the warehouse. Delilah couldn't afford to spotted at a place like this, while her career was mostly honest, this was one of the times when she was dealing with some less than legitimate paintings.

Delilah shifted to her feline form and slipped away unnoticed by the newshound. Her car was parked two blocks away outside one of the legitimate art houses that Delilah sometimes worked for.

Jess dressed her girls in their warmest winter woollies.

"C'mon ladies, I'm going to take you to explore a magical place that grown ups call 'outside!', I'm sure you will love it!", Jess explained to Melissa and Nerissa.

Delilah tip toed across the back yard. Eve had been paying more and more attention to her training dummies than to Delilah lately, and she was a little jealous. Rather than start a fight over it, Delilah decided it would be easier to have Eve train her. Not only would she get to spend more time with her lover, but the skill set may come in handy one day in her line of work.

"Notice me Senpai!", Delilah squealed when she was a foot away. Eve rolled her eyes.
If there was one thing that she liked less than manga and hentai, it was memes!
"Seriously Sweetheart, in this case," responded Eve,
"That meme.. I don't think it memes what you think it memes.."
