"I know right", Nerissa replied, "All this direct sunlight can't be good for us, and the people here talk funny."
The twins were busy exchanging eyerolls at how excited the grown ups were at being in such a boring place, when Jess walked past with a plateful of something that smelled truly delicious. The twins noses simultaneously tracked the smell, and their heads swiveled like radar dishes. "Don't be shy, order at the counter, anything you want, except coffee. We have a lot of places to visit today, including some art galleries", Jess suggested.
Jess and Cindy shared the mystery food and chatted animatedly.
Every body in the room could have spontaneously combusted,
Delilah and Eve only had eyes for each other, and wouldn't have noticed.
Melissa and Nerissa argued over the menu, they couldn't agree as to what item on the menu sounded the least disgusting, nor could they agree whether frogs legs or snails were the most revolting.
Genevieve, the waitress presented the girls with a menu that included pictures, and they both chose 'grilled croissant topped with two scrambled eggs, fluffed with goat cheese'. It tasted even better than it looked on the menu. "I didn't know goats made cheese, but I'm glad they do!", Nerissa told her sister as she shoved the last bite into her mouth.
Cindy and Jess hovered near each other like hummingbirds, Jess almost kissed Cindy, Cindy almost kissed Jess, Jess didn't want to be the one to make the first move in case it was too soon, Cindy didn't want to be the one to make the first move in case Jess wasn't ready.
"I just want to go over there and press their faces together! like get on with it already, stop delaying the inevitable!", Eve grumbled. "They'll work it out eventually.", Delilah whispered in Eve's ear, giving her earlobe a gentle nibble.
The first venue on their itinerary for the day was La Gallerie d'Art, while every body in the group had some mild interest in art, Delilah was in heaven. She knew facts about almost every piece on display, and even corrected the tour guide on details of one of the paintings.
"The painting was actually done in winter of 1876", Delilah corrected. "No, no, no, it is clearly a summer painting, can you not see zee bright colors here.", the tour guide insisted. "Yes, but the artist missed the good weather of summer season, and painted the pond how he remembered it, not how it was at the time he painted it!", Eve took Delilah by the hand and gently dragged her away before someone called security.
The twins were hoping to stay up and watch some late night TV, but the fact that they had walked most of the way around Champs Le Sims today looking at almost every tourist worthy location, and the fact that the local TV station only broadcast in French, saw them retire early without argument.
Jess and Cindy had both seen each other undressed before, but this was the first time that they intended to do something with it, unfortunately neither the shower nor the bath was big enough for both of them.
Eve appeared to be sleeping soundly after their lovemaking, and Delilah was tempted to
sneak back to one of the art galleries 'just to have another look'.
"Hey. come back to bed, I still have some energy left", murmured Eve.
Delilah decided that going back to the art gallery wasn't that important.
After they dried off, Cindy kissed Jess on the cheek and led her
by the hand to the room that they were sharing.
The Vampire and the Plantsim rested on the bed, Jess the inexperienced was afraid that she had no idea what she was doing while Cindy, the very experienced lover, had never had a shy partner before and was afraid that she might wreck things by going to fast.
Eventually Jess leaned over and kissed Cindy on the cheek,
the same as Cindy had kissed her earlier, only longer.
The odd couple spent the next few hours kissing, and stroking, and nibbling, and fondling and cuddling and giggling. Eventually Jess snuggled up against Cindy and closed her eyes. Cindy listened to Jess breathing as she slipped into a peaceful sleep.
Cindy herself was almost asleep when a thought occurred to her.
'What if Jess regrets this in the morning?'. Cindy didn't get much sleep that night.
At breakfast Jess smiled at several times at Cindy, but made no mention of the previous night, Delilah and Eve continued to quietly debate the 'status' of their housemates, where they or weren't they a couple yet?
Nerissa and Melissa were blissful unaware of what was going on with the adults, as they had discovered French Toast. "It's not Dim Sum, but it's almost as good!", Melissa decided. Nerissa could only nod in agreement. She reached for another slice.
Nerissa and Melissa discovered chess, which was a fantastic way to exercise your mind without having to exercise your feet, which were still sore from all of yesterdays ambling.
Delilah and Eve were technically baby sitting while they were snuggling in the garden.
Jess had organized an official date for herself and Cindy.
Jess was both surprised and a little annoyed when the proprietor recognized
Jess as a sim nation celebrity, but she smiled and pulled a pose for the camera.
Jess and Cindy held hands and stole sideways glances at each other while they waited to be called. Cindy sighed in relief, she had been worried that after last night, Jess might their relationship to return to normal.
"Normally, one would need zee ball peen hammer to massage a Plantsim, but you are very relaxed today, your spirit, it is in zee good place, oui?", Alyce asked Cindy, who murmured in agreement.
"And my celebrity, always hounded by the paparazzi, you also seem to be quite relaxed, zee holiday in France as been good to you too, oui?", Alexis asked. Jess smiled, "Oui!".
Authors Notes:
Excuse my french accent, it probably reads even worse than it sounds in my head...
I hate how having extra visa time also bumps up the minimum time. Nine days in France for a non explorer, boring! We bailed on the second day, without buying anything other than nectar books (which I think I already have in the house from a previous generation) and recipes.
I had planned for Delilah to some of her lesser honest work in the art gallery, but she insisted that this was a family holiday, and that she was on her best behavior.
I took the massage shot in the household basement after they returned, fully intending to use this mid chapter. Oddly enough, it's one of the few photos I didn't end up having to re-number.
