If you are unable to view these 3 to 5 images due to
reasons of religiosity, person preference, or because your

After talking with Lilli, and reading the books from Sam, (cover to cover, several times over), Natalie decides she needs to spend more time with strangers to strengthen her gifts. Natalie's thinking leads her to the local fortune tellers van. Unfortunately when Natalie arrives, she finds a man, about her age hanging a sign on the door 'CLOSED FOR BUSINESS, DUE TO ILL HEALTH'.
Natalie summons all her charismatic and dramatic skill, adds just the tiniest hint of flirt, and greets the man.
"Ill health huh, that is unfortunate, I was hoping to work alongside the current resident.", Natale smiles coyly.
"Oh, you startled me!", exclaimed the stranger, "My mother, the current site permit holder is very old and is ready to shrug off her mortal coils, so there is not much chance of that."
"Maybe I could negotiate to buy the site license?" Natalie started. "I very much doubt that, my mother is the real deal, and has no tolerance for frauds!", the man interrupted rudely.
The site owners son began to walk back to his car, Natalie took a chance, confronting the man, and reached out. Physical contact was her strongest trigger. "John, I am no fraud, I know you had a scareybear called Edmund as a child, which any one in your family or one of your friends could have told me.", Natalie burst out.
"But I can also tell you that you secretly named him 'Sir Edmund The Defender', and that you always slept against the wall with Sir Edmund in front of you, so he could protect you from the monsters under the bed.", she rushed.
"Your favorite color is Hot Pink, but you tell everyone it's Ocean Blue, so no one will judge you, you didn't date until you were seventeen because your first crush had her first kiss in front of you with the school bully when you where eight.", she continued.
"Okay, okay, I believe you! I'll talk to her!", said John, turning to run to his car. "I'm psychic, you are not, so I will write my phone number on paper for you.", Natalie grinned sweetly.
"It's funny how events can be so hit or miss, like five minutes earlier or later, and I would gave missed the opportunity!" Natalie explained to her husband later that night. "I know right, My boss Esteban had a house fire, and he was telling my Dad at work, because my Dad's office is next to Esteban's.", Eric says. "So Esteban tells my Dad that the Jettstar brothers saved his house, my Dad mentions that he knows them, because his son married their sister. Suddenly I get an offer from Esteban to fast track into a training program that I've been waiting for with a twelve month waiting list."
"It is, but..", Eric says slowly, "but its a four week program.". "Cool Natalie almost squeals, "A holiday, where are we going?", she asks. "That's the thing, its four weeks at an undisclosed location, and I can't bring you with me, or say anything else about it.", moans Eric. "I could read it out of you!, Natalie points out.
"Not really, apart from the fact that I had to sign a non disclosure agreement, just to find out what the course entailed, the military used a psychic mage to make sure I can't spill any details, by any means.", explained Eric. "So you are just going to up and vanish for a month, just like that?", Natalie responded testily.
"I haven't signed the paperwork yet, a month apart is an awfully long time to be with out you, sweetheart!", Eric cooed in soothing tones. Natalie knew he was attempting to mollify her, and she also knew he meant it.
"Do it, sign the forms, your career is important to us, and the sooner you climb to the top, the sooner I can get a postcard from outer space!", Natalie giggled.
"Speaking of outer space. Did you see the front page of the 'Elba Valley Independent Inquirer', the headline is 'Aliens Invade Elba', and there's a supposed picture of U.F.O. from an anonymous source.", mentions Natalie, slowly trying to steer the course of the conversation.
"Yeah, I did, it's a really crappy photo that looks edited. Did you notice where the photo was taken from, right next door. I think the anonymous source is one of Jamie Sparrow's new kids just having a laugh", Eric replied. "Besides, if there was really green skinned midgets zooming around town probing and impregnating people and tipping cows, I'm pretty sure the military would be all over it."
"But what if I get probed and poked by aliens while you are gone, and you come home to find a dozen little alien babies crawling around the house?", Natalie asked as innocently sounding as she could. Eric grinned, he didn't need his witch powers, or her psychic ones to realize Natalie had intentionally steered the conversation to this topic.
Eric stopped his workout and sat upright. "Oh, so you want to be probed and poked do you?", Eric asked with an evil grin.
Natalie's new found control over her gift since studying under Sam allowed her to subconsciously block some visions, one of those things was Angelita. Before adding Angelita to her mental black list, Natalie had seen far too much of the Vampires past, and had seen enough glimpses of the future to know that the Vampire had no harmful intentions for her or her family in the immediate future, so she was quite surprised to find Lil and Angelita sitting and talking in the lounge room in a casual manner.
"Excuse me for interrupting Lil, but you are about to have guests, I just had a vision of four black riders on four black horses, and they will be here any minute.", said Natalie quietly. Lil and Angelita got up from the couch. "Four black riders on four black horses, like the 'Four Horsesims Of The Simpocalypse'.", Lilly asked, pressing for more details, even though she knew who was coming.
"Well the image was just a flash, grainy and had no control, but no, they had swords not scythes. They looked like Fairies, but not, more like a goth punk band, but they do have a powerful shield with them and possibly a mage! they shut me down as soon as I tried to put control on the vision", Natalie said concerned.
"Don't let it worry you, Ive been expecting them, go upstairs until they have gone though please Nat."
After Natalie had made her way upstairs, Lilli and Angel exchanged worried glances. Black Fae never left the palace grounds unless they where on a mission, and four Black Fae together was a combat unit.
Lilly made another blood fruit tea for Angel, and a peppermint tea for herself, and leaving Nat in the kitchen by herself, headed down to the lounge room. Natalie suddenly yelled downstairs over the glass wall from the kitchen, "Lilli, they're here, in the park!". Lilly peered through the window, looking through the gap between her little bungalow and the garden. She put down her tea and went to get answers.
Three of the riders sat on their horses, whispering animatedly among themselves, occasionally pointing at things. Lilli immediately realized that despite being old and experienced enough to wear the black, that they had not spent much time beyond the borders of Fae Nation. The obvious leader was the other one, who had dismounted, and had far more interest in her steed than in architecture or the few other locals in the park.
As Lilli approached the leader, the other three Fae dismounted and rushed to form a line behind their commander. Lilly breathed a quiet sigh of relief when she noted that all four had left their swords on their steeds.
"Graig Lilliana Camilla Jasmine Primrose Poppy Rosebloom, yr wyf yn dod â chyfarchion gan Ei Mawrhydi,
Uchel Bren Jasper Valerian Alder Florian Rowan Rosebloom, amddiffynwr y Fae, deiliad ..", Began the Fae soldier.
Translation: (Lady Lilliana Camilla Jasmine Primrose Poppy Rosebloom, I bring greetings from His Majesty, High King Jasper Valerian Alder Florian Rowan Rosebloom, defender of the Fae, holder of..)
"Stop!", insisted Lilli in a commanding tone, "I know who I am, and I know who my little brother is, drop the formalities, and tell me who you are!", "And please use Simlish.", Lilli added firmly.
"As you request, Lady Lilliana. I am Commander Carnegia Blossom, and I bear both gift and message from His Majesty, The King.", the unit commander explained. She performed a complicated half bow, half curtsy motion, despite Lilli's insistence to forgo formalities.
"This is my first Lieutenant, and combat mage, Dahlia Bindthorn." Dahlia repeated the half bow, half curtsey.
"This is my second Lieutenant, and combat psychic, Poppy Sorrell." Poppy also repeated the half bow, half curtsy.
"And this is Master Sergeant Zinnia Bluebell.", Carnegia stated. "Don't you dare attempt 'Cyfarch yn ddrwg ac yn barchus i frenhinedd.' in full armor plating.", Lilly said quickly.
Translation: (Humble and respectful greeting to royalty,)
"Thank you 'Your Majesty', said Zinnia quietly, instead bowing her head warrior to warrior style. "My mother made me practice for a day in custom made plate when I was fourteen.", Lilly explained, "I'm not sure the bruises on my spine have completely faded yet.", Lilly joked to ensure the Master Sergeant didn't get a dressing down from the Commander later on.
"The King advised of us of your protections, even so my mage only detected the faintest taste of wards around your property, both powerful and subtle, yet beyond her understanding, so we thought it best to wait beyond until you were ready to receive us. The news and gift I carry would be best dealt with indoors", Carnegia hinted. "There is also a discussion to be had, regarding your guest."
Lillian closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "It is done, the wards are relaxed.". Lilli lied. If the Black Fae were not here to do anyone harm, they could have simply pass through without being caught in the trap at anytime. If they were being deceitful, the powerfully crafted wards would trap them anyway.
Commander Carnegia flicked a few subtle hand signals at Poppy and Zinnia, who went back to look after the horses, while the commander and the mage followed Lil to the house, Dahlia slowed her pace momentarily as they passed Lilli's garden, missing her own garden, which wasn't anywhere as large or well maintained as this one.
"Cyfarchion Carnrgia rhyfelwr ryyfeddol.", Angelita said as the Fae entered the lounge.
Translation: Greetings Carnegia valiant warrior.
"How dare you darken our fair language with your foul tongue bitch!", Carnegia hissed tersely, resisting the urge to reach for the sword that wasn't at her hip.
"Wow, I sense you still harbor some hostility, maybe I should just take my tea and go lock myself back in my dungeon", stated Angelita, raising an eyebrow mockingly.
"Please do, Angelita, 'rhyfelwr ryyfeddol.' The message I bear is not of your concern.", Carnegia said as calmly as she could. As much as she personally wanted to tear this vampires throat out, Angelita was under the sanctuary protection of both her King, and Lady Lilliana.
When Angelita had left the room, the three Fae sat down to discuss a great many things. Eventually the mage removed what appeared to be an ordinary looking hand sewn burlap sack, from a small pouch on her belt, and placed it on her lap. She fiddled with the drawstrings for a moment and as she reached her hand into the bag, it exploded into a frenzy of sparks and static charges.
From where Lilli was sitting it looked like the odd little bag contained a violent thunderstorm of epic proportions. The Mage stiffened slightly as her hand entered the bags opening, and without looking she fished around for a few moments, Lil watched in amazement as the Mage pushed elbow deep into a bag that only looked big enough to fit a hand in.
The Mage smiled and began extracting an object from the bag, the object in question was a small tin box, barely big enough to hold a bar of soap, and the bag ceased to snap and crackle once the object was removed.
Dahlia pulled the drawstring on the bag and gently placed the tin box in front of Lil. Dahlia put the bag back into her belt pouch, and without a word, pushed back her chair, and silently rose before returning to her comrades and horses.
Carnegia also rose and before leaving turned to Lil, "The King has bade us to deliver messaged to many of the leaders of Wolf kind and Mundane Vampires in the area, so I must be on my way."
Carnegia took a deep breath before again speaking to Lilliana. Lil could immediately sense that Carnegia was hesitant about speaking her mind. Eventually the Black Fae Commander conquered her inner turmoil and spoke. "The Dark Angel has been, for centuries, my arch-enemy, my nemesis. She is a mean, vicious and highly skilled opponent, but over those centuries I have also learned that she has always been a Vampire of her word.", Carnegia started.
"If you think that she is being untrue Lady Lilliana, or even suspect that she is plotting something behind this offer of sanctuary, get word to me, and I will end her, even if it forfeits my own life.", Carnegia finished with resolve.
Shortly after the Black Fae had left, Angelita returned upstairs for a tea refill. "She doesn't like you very much does she?", asked Lil. Angel dropped her tea bag in the bin, before explaining, "Our paths crossed dozens of times. My people called her 'Captain Cactus', she was unkillable and it was impossible to touch her without coming away with at least twice as many wounds!", Angel reminisced.
"Our last meeting was a week before my father was defeated and went into hiding. My unit was camped in the mountains, resting after a long series of raids, hers was searching for us. They killed two of us in our sleep, which was a very unFae like thing to do, and when my sister and I woke, we were outnumbered two to one. Even half asleep my sister and I killed her comrades quickly, but neither of us could take her down.", Angelita explained, her dark eyes glazed over in remembrance.
"We clashed swords for twenty minutes in the darkness, with only the campfire light glinting against her sword to suggest her next move. Neither side was able to gain the upper hand, and we fought until we could barely lift swords. My sister kept trying to get in behind Carnegia, and when she finally did, Carnegia threw a handful of sand in my sisters eyes, reversed her sword and ran her through.", Angelita closed her eyes, and stopped reciting her tale for a moment.
"She took my sister, and I took her eye and set her on fire, I was about to finish her when another Fae unit arrived, I was far too tired to fight another unit, so I had to run."
Lil dropped herself into her the rocking chair, it had been a very long day. Between her charity work, the recycling yard, and the junk yard, Lilli felt run off her feet, all three now required at least more than double the attention now, than when she had first taken them on.
Natalie advised Lil that she needed to cosign a withdrawal to purchase the fortune tellers site license, "I have all the details sorted, and I can funnel most of the earnings after tax back into the family account within a few years."
Lilly pulled the last crate of blood fruit from the back of her ute, and took a moment to talk to Nat. "You don't need to repay the money, Nat, we have plenty, and I don't expect your brothers to pay for the house either. In fact I was thinking of selling the junkyard or the scrapyard, maybe even both."
"Oh, I don't think that that's a wise Idea Lil. Both of the business's are almost profitable enough to employ managers, and both the cost of living and property values only ever rise. If anything, now is actually a good time to buy up!", Natalie explained.
The wolf within had just assumed control under the moons guidance, when Natalie's phone began jingling in her pocket. She carefully teased the phone out of her pocket with a claw. "Oh hi, how are you?", Natalie growled. "You are having a party in Elba tonight? I'm stuck in wolf mode fir the day, that might make things awkward. Oh, OK, Eric just got home from work, I'll ask him!""
"Eric, guess who is in town?", Natalie said, trying to keep some of the excitement from her voice.
"Being a Genie means no Visa limits, and no travel expenses!", Sam explains to Eric."If I can picture it in my head, or if I have been there before, I just blink and there I am!"

"You do realize that with you going away for a month, that's four weeks
less baby making practice time that we have?", Natalie informed her husband.
"Well then, it's going to be a very busy night isn't it!", grinned Eric, "How many babies do we
want? We haven't really talked about that, I didn't like being an only child. So how about twins
or triplets, that seems to run in your family."
"I was thinking more like five, or six, or maybe even seven", Natalie grinned
as she dropped her underwear to the floor. Eric pulled her on to the bed.
"If we had eleven, we could have a family football team!", Eric whispered in
Nat's ear as he planted kisses up her neck.
"I'm not really a football fan!", Natalie said, as she slid off her husbands lap, and
began slowly and teasingly stripping off her few remaining cloths.
"And I don't think I could stop at eleven, I would want to have one hundred babies,
now that would be a challenge!", Natalie growled throatily as she
climbed back on to the bed.

Natalie and Eric having consumed all of their energy, drifted off into a blissful sleep.
Authors Note:
This is why I hate shooting in small houses, after ten or more minutes of moving the camera around to get shots, most of the time it looked like this.... Hence the lack of story and pics for Sam's party.
Gasp! You've destroyed my fragile childlike innocence! No worries, I've seen a whole lot worse in other legacies. The warning was appreciated, though (as well as hilarious).
ReplyDeleteI laughed at Natalie semi-threatening John for a job. So Eric's going away for a month? Hmmm... where are you going with this?
The fae melodrama is very well-written. I like the way you work it in to the usual legacy mundanity.
It's good to see Sam again (although I'm also suspicious about that).
I feel your pain with the small house. I can't wait until the next generation when I can move. I'm unlikely to have enough money to move anywhere nice, but I can still move. It feels like every time I want a sim to do anything, they go to stand in a corner to do it, and even when they don't, the rooms are too small for me to get a good picture without the walls doing wonky stuff. So yeah, I get it.
I create the 'Sands' family for the one off use in Chapter 2.18, Wagaturtle commented 'And I /know/ Nat is married, but I'm really in the mood for blue babies now, hehe.
DeleteI created the 'Sands' family for the one off use as trainers and explainers of the psychic system of my universe. I had also intended to use Sam as a red herring to lure readers into thinking Natalie may be unfaithful, but decided to bin the idea.... Now that two of my three regular commenters have expressed an interest in Sam, I may weasel him into the plot somewhere.
I always thought that the psychic face grip was a custom pose.. after seeing her actually do it, I considered using poseplayer to reshoot the scene, but I was up for 17 hours straight just on creating the 4 horse fae and the mounts.
Don't get me started on dodgy cameras and small houses, I'm trying to keep the word count on this comment less than chapter word count.
That scene with John at the beginning... I'm so glad there are no real world psychics (or are there? *paranoia*) because I'd be mortified if someone just spilled all my secrets like this :D
ReplyDeleteThat was a pretty loaded encounter with the goth punk fae, I'm kinda relieved it didn't end in death and murder. Still curious where the plot is going! So far I really have no idea what to think of either side or who can or can't be trusted.
As for the small house thing, I sometimes remove a piece of wall just for a screenshot and then put it back in, or shift the camera diagonally to try and get everything important on screen without having to move back too far. But parties are always tricky (bordering on impossible) to shoot nicely, so no worries there!
'John' is actually Chaim Ogden-Wulff, a distant quasi relative to the Wulff tribe that Natalie's mother Casey had several run in's with. I was just about to bail the game to create a fortune teller for Natalie to take over from when Chaim walked onto the lot, so I offered him simoleons to do one screen caps worth of acting..
DeleteThe Black Fae, they have potential to go on for several chapters, (and I've binned them and the horses (or at least one of the horses) they rode into town on!)in case they need to return. Angel (who is here in violation, or at least not in accordance to RLC standard rules), is a core component of conflict in my story telling. I feel that there was nowhere near enough energy or explanation surrounding her arrival, and I'm trying to rectify that, without taking to much attention from the people who are meant to be in the house :)
As for who to trust? To quote a favored movie, 'I trust everyone, It's the devil inside them I don't trust.'
I also tend to use window walls for lighting, wall removal and a bunch of other tricks, I think that half the issue is my craptop MX 130 video card.
