Natalie had arranged to meet her relatives at 'The Flying V' for several reasons. The first reason being that she didn't want paparazzi swarming her children, she'd had visions of how miserable their lives would become if the media got wind of her magical miracle birth. The second was work, this was the time and place where she could meet most of her family at once. Marcus and Casey had been flying back to Elba between every other location, to watch their grand children grow. The third reason was that Natalie was thinking of adding the 'V' to the family's property portfolio.
"The boys won't be able to get here!", Maggie explained, "Five minutes until end of shift, and they got a call for a fire out near the community gardens!". "Love that color Mrs J!" Jazz added. "Yeah Mum, it makes you look twenty years younger!", Natalie stated. "I tried to convince your father to color his hair.." Casey started to say when Marcus interrupted.
"And I tell your mother that nobody would pay any attention to a madly in love young couple, but when they see this grey haired old coot, with such a lovely young woman on his arm, that sets tongues wagging!", stated Marcus with a laugh. "Isn't he a charmer!", gushed Casey.
"Okay, so the tribe ages up tomorrow night, don't bring any food, Lil has been cooking a storm for the last few days, and the fridge is stacked.", Natalie informed Maggie and Jazz. As an afterthought Natalie added, "And don't worry about presents, we are about to tear down the end of the house and expand again!"
"And just because Natalie has added a whole branch to the family tree, doesn't mean you girls are of the hook!", Marcus grinned at Maggie and Jazz.
Lil looked at the teapot. Lil moved around the dresser and looked at the teapot again. There was something familiar about it, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Lil picked up the teapot and lifted the lid. She inhaled the scent of chamomile tea, one of Natalie's favorites. But there was also the faintest hint of residual magic energy. The realization hit Lil like a floodlight, This wasn't originally a teapot, this was a Genie Lamp!
Lil, looked at the magical teapot, and at the dolls on the dresser beside it. Natalie had taken them from a rounded up collection that included things from Mrs Sands, the mother of the man Natalie had gone to for psychic instruction, and she must have taken the lamp at the same time mistaking it for a teapot!
Lil, put the empty teapot lamp in the drawer, she would need to have a mage check it out to make sure it was completely drained of magic. It had caused enough trouble already. Lil thought she heard a noise in the Nursery, and quietly opened the door and crept on to see who was awake. At the end of the room, Angelita was hovering over a cot, watching Nicholas. "You can pick him up, he won't bite.", said Lilli quietly.
Angel flinched, she had been so intent on watching Nicholas that she hadn't even heard Lilli enter the room, something that could never have happened a year ago. "How do you know I wont?" asked Angel.
"Because if his mother or I thought you were any danger to anyone here, we would have cut your throat and buried your ashes under one of our lemon trees along time ago.", stated Lil.
"They terrify me.", Angel state simply. "So fragile, so innocent, so pure, and yet so easily corruptible."
"Maybe when they age up, but until then I'd be more comfortable in a room full of angry Black Fae."
Eric advised his supervisors that he would not be available for international spy missions for a time, due to family issues, and he was returned to flight instructor duties. Being an international super spy was a lot of fun but 'International spy - can't tell you more or I'd have to kill you' probably wouldn't look that good on a resume when he applied for the space program.
Natalie wolfed down a salad, her brothers Dylan and Dominic, and their wives, Jazz and Maggie were on there way over later this evening. Natalie's parents, Marcus and Casey would also be by, before flying out for a month in Simstralia.
"Look at you little sprout, a whole lot stinky now!", Lilli chuckled.
"I've been getting back into alchemy, and I've made you a present for when you are tired, it will also chase the blues away!", offered Lil as she handed a small box to Nat. "I also have whipped up a few dozen cure potions for the zombies that will be hanging around the garden tonight", Lil added.
"Oh, full moon time already on the night I planned the babies party, how did I miss that?", Natalie groaned.
"With so many cubs to look after, you forget to look after yourself sometimes!", Lil pointed out.
Lil went back to her Alchemy, she checked her lists. Vampiric sunscreen was next, the stuff could sit on the shelf for decades if unopened, so Lil thought it best to stockpile it for one particular sprout upstairs.
'We may need a shopping trip' Lil mused.
No one has really used this decking area in years. It might be time to call Bob The Builder And Son about another renovation..
Lil dialed the number in her smart phone, "Hello, Bob The Builder And Son?", Lil asked as soon as she heard the call being answered.
"Bob The Builders Sons, Oh I'm sorry to hear your father passed away."
"Yes, your father performed dozens of renovations and extensions for us, so much so that ninety percent of our house is his handiwork."
"That's good to hear as we need to expand again."
"You still offer the same day service guarantee?"
"Excellent, when are you available to come do the pre-inspection?"
"Tomorrow will be fantastic!"
Shortly after the call, Family started arriving, the event was a quiet one, mostly filled with reminiscing and hugging. Jazz let slip that she and Dylan had finally conceived, although she hoped for triplets at most. Natalie advised Jazz of the dangers of making wishes while rubbing mystical teapot shaped genie lamps while talking on the phone to sister in laws.
Just before midnight, the family filed into the nursery to witness the babies age into toddlers.
First to sparkle and age up was Christopher. Natalie beamed,
"Christopher has witch power's, just like his Dad!"
Eric grinned like he had just discovered
how to make fire.
"Jennifer has Genie genes.", Natalie announced, when the second child
practically exploded in to a burst of sparkles.
"Somehow Cecilia got her genetics from an alien race that has some
of its members living in Sim Nation, apparently they are
fleeing some sort of tyrannical leader." Nat's
explanation was cut short as another
child began to sparkle.
"This little charmer is Nicholas, he has Vampire genes, and the most gorgeous eyes",
Natalie gushed, as Nicholas flashed a shy smile at the onlookers.
"Nathaniel definitely takes after his mothers side!", Natalie pointed out.
Nathaniel on hearing his name, let out a cute werewolf meow.
"Jonathan is obviously Fae!", Natalie chirped when the sparkles cleared
to reveal a pair of white fairy wings. "Oh what a cutie, he is
going to break some hearts!" Casey declared.
Sophia was next to pop, she sparkled longer and brighter than the others and when
the light show had cleared, revealed a blond child. "Those aren't leggings are
they?", Jazz asked. Natalie explained that Sophie had Merfolk genes,
and that the leggings where in fact scales.
Everybody waited patiently for the last baby to sparkle and age up.
Eventually Lilly-Rose age up sparkle appeared in shades of green,
"Our Lilly-Rose gets her genes from a race with a name that
human tongues cant even pronounce, but the Fae
simply call her people 'plant sims'
"We've had constant troubles keeping nappies on her,
and apparently the tradition continues.",
Natalie laughed.
Natalie laughed.
Authors Note:
Eric got sent on a mission to Egypt in the part 1 because he developed 'Antsim blooper hero powers'. Google says this is caused by corrupt CC clothing or playing with 'moveobjects on'. In my case its definitely move objects, changing outfits or travel fixes it though. Also, Eric was wearing the EA army career outfit at the time. Lil had done the amazing antsim trick earlier after I'd used move objects for posing, and forgot to turn it off.
The only editing I did for the children (other than remove most of their shoes), was Nick and John's style, (all four boys had the same do!), and I changed Sophie's hair color and style, as well as lightening Lilly-Roses skin tone and giving her hair... Lilly-Rose's original skin tone was darker than what her hair color is now.
Also, the very top picture was extracted from the save file. Angelita would not knowingly allow herself to be photographed while she is in hiding, nor would she touch a baby.
'Antsim blooper hero powers', as you call them, suck. I usually just reset the same, but sometimes that causes weird glitches too.
ReplyDeleteIt was good to see Casey and Marcus again, and of course the genie lamp causes problems. That's just what they do.
The kids are all cute, but good lord there are a lot of them. I was a little concerned that you might use at least one name I have in mind for my next generation, but you didn't. Dylan's name would have been Sophia if he were a girl, but obviously that didn't happen. For that reason and the mermaid thing, I think she's my early favorite. Great chapter!
I tried 'resetsim' three times without success and discovered traveling to WA fixes it, also googled after and found using a wardrobe to change outfits also does the job. I forget to make a list of names, I had to come up with them on the spot, as they were born. Even Lilly-Rose was spur of the moment, whereas I had googled the Black Fae names before I entered CAS..
DeleteThat first pic, it looks like a baby juggling show! Don't drop them. So I was right with my guess about their life state, wasn't sure if you'd include another werewolf and fae but with 8 kids it kinda had to be. I haven't played with mermaids at all yet so my early fav is also Sophia.
ReplyDeleteMy head is already starting to create short and long term breed related plots for Sophia, Ceci, Jen and Lilly-Rose. Its not that I'm ignoring the boys, but I've played with those life states already. (That only occurred to me as I was answering your comment..) I will have to work equally as hard for the boys as the Heir for the next generation is to be readers choice, not mine, so I am not allowed to choose a favorite :)
