3.11 A Spooky Day Continues

Marcus and Casey dropped by in the late afternoon, Marcus had polished off his third plate of spaghetti and was heading back for his fourth before the party had even officially started.

Dylan and Dominic showed up with Maggie and Jazz and the babies. Dominic pointed out to Dylan that he was out of shape, Dylan pointed out to Dom, that once he had a few kid he wouldn't have time to work out '24/7'. Dylan also took the opportunity to pointed out that if he was so out of shape, how did he manage to beat Dominic to the firetruck three times out of four when the alarm went off?

Natalie spent the entire time rushing around with plates of food, and picking up after the kids. Nat picked up a glass of Nectar that some adult had irresponsibly left poolside, and it triggered a very short vision regarding the long term 'guest' of the house and went to find her. "I don't have a problem with it, as long as you stay out of trouble", Nat told Angel.

Despite being the frantic host and life of the party, Nat did steal some time away to spend a few quiet moments with her dad. They went across the road where Venice was buried in a private lot, and Marcus complained that he and Casey were getting old, and that he didn't know how much time they had left.

After the mornings earlier outing with Lil, Angel decided she had been locked away for too long and needed some fresh air. Other than a few secret escorted trips with Lil, and some 'unofficially official' tasks from King Jasper, Angel had spend almost all of her exile inside the house. She explained her intentions to Eric, and that it had been discussed with and approved by Natalie. Eric agreed to cover for her with Lil, on the conditions that she did not get into any trouble, and that she returned before dawn.

Angel had been paying attention to the operating hours of all the local bars and clubs in Elba, she had planned her attack. Her evening began at Tribal. It began with Raspberry Bubbles and Hemoglobin Shooters.

She was on her sixth shooter when it dawned on her, before her exile, she would have drained the bartender dry by this time of night.

She tried a Bad Cheerleader, which did indeed remind her of several cheerleaders she had tasted, which were mostly bad. She then ordered a Fan Fizz, which didn't do anything for her. Angel tried a Red Water, a Plasma Punch, and a Sanguine Slush. Instead of the drinking and being out without a chaperone cheering her up, she was beginning to feel a little depressed. She asked the barman for a Woohoo On The Beach, and after she tasted the first one, decided that was her drink for the night.

Nikkie, or Nelly, or Nina, whatever the barmaid's name was brought over a plate of Onion rings for Angel and Tom the barman. She was about to join the conversation, when a second customer arrived, an Australian backpacker. The newcomer reminded Angel of someone from her past, she was tempted to make a call, but explaining why she wasn't as dead as everyone thought after a decade was complicated.

Angel checked her watch, Tribal would start to get busy in the next hour, it was time to move on. She ordered a Spline Reticulator, before heading out.

She followed the barmaid, (whose name she couldn't remember) and waited with her for a taxi. Angel was proud of how much she had changed during her exile. While the thoughts and memories of her former life occasionally surfaced, she no longer felt the instinctual urge to act on them.

Angel had a few thoughts of tearing the young girls throat open and siphoning her blood. It was something the old Angelita would do without a second thought. Instead she distracted herself with thoughts of her unofficially adopted family and about how the Spooky Day party would be winding down and the kids going to bed.

When she arrived at Varg's Tavern, Happy Hour was well and truly over, and the downstairs bar was empty except for the barman. Angel climbed the stairs. The upstairs bar wasn't much livelier, with two ghosts and a dog on one side of the bar, and a young barmaid barely out school on the other. Angel leaned over the bar, almost touching noses with the young girl "Hi. You Need To Go Downstairs. I Can Look After The Bar For You.", whispered Angel.

The barmaid, mesmerized by Angels hypnotic power replied, "Oh Hai, I need to go downstairs and do.. something.. Can you look after the bar for me? Thanks!" she said dreamily as she made her way out from behind the bar. "The ladies are drinking Molotov's, and the dog is not fussy, he is also not paying."

Luckily for Angel, the Morcubus Molotov was one of the three drinks she knew how to make without checking the recipe. Angel settled in for the night, mixing Molotov's for the mother and daughter, and watered down versions of everything else for the dog. Thanks to Lil, and her time with the Jettstar's, not being a sadistic psychotic killing machine was so much easier than she expected!

Authors note:

The top screenshots should have been in the last chapter, Angel was supposed to have her own chapter, but time anomalies and corrupts saves meant I had pages of notes full of things that didn't happen, happened, but happened in the wrong order, or happened but are irrelevant because they relate to something that didn't happen.

I have a soft spot for Angel, despite not being officially a part of the RLC. Originally she was only meant to be here for a few chapters. She is my 'exploring how things in all my new EPs work' character, for example mixology, nectar making, photography, sculpting etc. I have kept her in the RLC house rather than play multiple sims 3 saves at once.

Nick, the shy, yet irresistible vampire son, continued to cause trouble even after backing up to much earlier stages, I tried every trick on google, and a few more. Eventually I saved Nick to the bin, started a new game with child Nick and a random. He aged to teen without a problem in a clean world and save, so I then saved him to the bin as a teen. I then reloaded my RLC save, force killed the real Nick, and merged the binned teen version and the random to the Jettstar family, then killed of the random. Then I used cheats to rebuild the family tree (which now has two Nicks listed... One that exists, and one that doesn't.) Complicated?

Maybe. But not as complicated as the story line I came up with that Nick had been kidnapped and later murdered by one of Angel's father vampire troops, when I thought I might not be able to find a work around for Nick!

Next chapter will be a short one, introducing the octuplets as teens.

  2. It's nice seeing Angel get out and about. I have a soft spot for her too. I usually have a separate save for the exploring new EPs people, but I understand why you didn't want to do that.

I'm glad you managed to find a work around for Nick! I'm just starting to rebuild my family trees after moving everyone into the new save... I had to put Tara into the active household so that she registered as the triplets' mother, then move her out, force kill her, and erase the heartbroken moodlet Dylan got. Fun times. So yeah, I get the family tree complications.

Edit: Sorry, I originally commented from the wrong account, and my OCD compelled me to fix it.

  3. I'm 'pushing' Angel as much as I can, because of (A)next gen rolls, and (B) the plot. Yes, there is actually a plot. Its vague and even I don't have all the details, but there is definitely a plot here. Somewhere.

Mt OCD is mostly kept in check by a combination by random bouts of impatience and laziness :)
